hmm... I live in Raleigh... not sure I have the heart to sell anything though.

Well, just a heads-up for those in the area who consistently say they want to get their collection down to size. My home is in the area, but I'm in Detroit. No desire to get rid of anything on my part, either.

Either KEH is looking to pick up bargains or they're getting really low on inventory. There's not much new film based equipment in the pipeline, and I think that pretty much everybody who wanted to sell their film gear already sold their film gear.
With the growing popularity of high school and college photography courses it's putting a squeeze on the supply of suitable cameras , such as Pentax and Minolta manual SLR's.

Hah Al, as long as art school exsits there will be an endless need for FM2n's, K1000's and Canon AE's. I've long since lost track the number of those model camera's I've spotted over kids shoulders in San Francisco.

cmogi10, yeah an' there ain't no more neighborhood camera shops to buy 'em at, either! I creates a BIG problem for the students. Last year I gave a Minolta X-700 to one of the baristas at my local Starbucks when she asked me where she could buy a camera for her photo class.
The damned shame is the amount of these cameras that must be sitting idle, maybe never to be used again. Anybody here have a camera like that tucked away? Contact your local schools and colleges. Find it a new home where it can get some attention. The students are there. The cameras are out there hiding someplace. Become a matchmaker!

I've tried to give film cameras to area schools, but those that still teach photography at all are 100 percent digital, their darkrooms turned into classrooms.

Nothing is what I want
I teach photography at a college in NC. We offer a major in photography. Our (state wide) financial situation is so bad that we have been told there is only money for salaries until the end of the fiscal year (June). We have been told that because of this situation we will have no money for supplies, so if we run out of developer or ink, the courses are effectively over. (Though I am also sure that some of us will dig into our own pockets for supplies.) We still teach film and wet darkroom for the entire first year of instruction. If anybody has a nice older manual camera they would like to donate to a good program that will then loan it to a deserving student, please contact me. Thank you.

Unfortunately, their definition of "top dollar" and mine differ substantially.
