For the last month in my spare time I have been tracking prices of F3HP's for the fun of it and this by far is the best deal I have seen in a long time.
I just won a F3HP [my second] this week. I could not resist. I really really could not resist.
This is such a deal! Man o Man, someone is going to have a nice F3 for christmas!

The F3HP has a slightly different finder than the vanilla F3 with a higher eye-point, making it easier to use for those who wear glasses. The MD4 is the most common motor for the F3, 4-5fps or thereabout.
There is also a F3P (as in Professional) with slightly different specs. It has different finder with titanium cover and flash cold shoe (unlike the F3 and F3HP), higher buttons to facilitate use with gloves, no double-exposure switch, one-hand locking of the back and some other small differences.

F3's are one of the few camears that will just keep going.
My F3 is beat, lots of dents, some brassing, missing parts,
and it still snaps along with ease, MD-4 or not...

My F3 was the camera of choice for my most recent trip to the African bush - quite a tough trip all in all. Can't fault its simplicity and reliability. Only drawback is that I cant post many of the shots I took to my gallery here...
In the UK the F3 has halved in price in the last couple of years...I may buy another one.

I was looking for an HP finder for my F3 and lucked onto an F3 user at a local camera store. The store owner couldn't get it to turn on so I got it for cheap ($75) for the finder. I cleaned the battery compartment with an eraser and now have a working user F3HP. I am really enjoying using the HP finder and am starting to change my view of the F3.

These are my F3 bad boys!
On the right is my new F3 serial # 170xxxx [received on Dec. 18/07], slight indentation on the prism, a tiny brassing on the film advance side. Real clean inside & out. Left, 24mm AIS, Right 28m AIS.

Well this is a RF site so I'll just say "M4-P and M2" then tell you about my F3HP.
I have two F2s with DP-1 finders and some lenses. They look a little rough for their 30 or so years of perfect service ('71 and '74). I thought I might brighten things up in the camera bag so when I came by a near perfect F3HP ('97) 4 years ago at a camera store, I bought it.
A very fine camera, some of the egonomics are poor ( but we all know about that stuff don't we? ) but I've overlooked those. I'd not trade either of my F2s for an F3 but the F3 gets the use these days, when I need an SLR.

I was lucky to score a boxed as new F3HP earlier this year. A great companion to my FM2 and easier on these bespectacled eyes. But I will not bore you with the sad story of the champagne titanium F3HP kit I let get away in the early 1980's...or my ignoring getting a F3P around the same time.

li've had two F3's (one a Titanium version) since they first came out - so that must be getting on for 25 years - and they have proved totally reliable throughout. They are probably good for another 25 years, which will be more than enough for me, I expect.
