For those of you on Facebook, there is a new scam going around. There were two posts on the local marketplace and one more in the nearby town. I am pretty sure it will spread.

The listing is the one below.

I decided to bite the cheese and message him thinking that maybe he meant £149 or something.

I contacted him and he sounded like a nice guy but he just sold it. He has a few more cameras he is not using and I could have a look on a tiny-url he sent me. All dead cheap.

I decided it was getting too dodgy and left the discussion and blocked him.

There is one more listing in my town - a Rolleiflex 3.5 for £60 from a similarity looking profile and a Nikon Z9 for £73 in the nearby town.

All profiles created a month ago with no posts. Obviously they didn't like their Christmas presents...

These are common here in the US. I've seen all sorts of crazy photo listings with very high end cameras sold for bargain basement prices (Leica M6 for $300 for example) by people with brand new profiles. The reason they're selling is always the same, "I don't have time to use it". Even better, the profile is often of a pretty young lady with pale skin and blond hair, but the hand holding the camera in the listing is obviously someone of a darker and more masculine nature with dirty fingernails.
