I'm planning on bidding on a M3 that's currently on eb*y.. and since there's no point in getting in a bidding war with other RFF members, everybody just stay away from that place for a week, ok? thanks!

I don't even know yet.. it includes a collapsible Summicron, meter and original case.. chances are it'll go beyond my budget.. but since I don't have a wife/girlfriend/significant other to yell at me if I spend too much, I don't have a price limit

I happened to have another window open with eBay up when I clicked this thread...sorry.
I'll make a deal with you, you don't bid on the Yashica 35W (currently at 99 cents), and I won't bid on the Leica. Deal?

Don't worry about me bidding on am M3. At the moment they are out of my bidget. But I am waiting on the delivery of a nice Yashica J and a Zeiss Ikon Contina to replace one that has had the shutter sieze.

you drive a hard bargain, CN.. but alright!

and Solares, I saw the link somebody put up for those when they first went up for auction.. not bad.. in fact, it might be a better option, given that I don't really need the meter or Summicron that's included in 'my' auction

I hope everyone realizes that I'm kidding.. except for the part about bidding on the M3

I can't even afford the Bessa-T I want, so what makes you think I'm going to be bidding on an M3!? 😀

Anyway, good luck!

If these cameras are from SHPhoto, which they probably are, or any supplier from Nurnberg (thay work under different names) forget it !

They are husslers, fly by night sort of people, check out their reviews. It's a big second hand firm form Germany and they have a lot of equipement, they never get passed 500 - 1000 reviews, before that they are kicked out. They don't sell on the >german market anymore cause no one will buy ...

Beware .... !!!

It is good to recognize bidders names. A few weeks ago ray-g and I ended up both bidding on the same Canon P. I had made up my mind that I was going to pass on it, but was still very tempted and bumped up the price a couple times. There were other bidders so I don't know if in the end I raised the price that Ray paid for the camera, but had I recognized his ebay ID I wouldn't have bid. Good news is that he did get the camera and lens, and it was still a good deal.

maybe we should make a list of our ebay names.

That canon p auction being an exception, I usually bid during the last few seconds (if I am awake 😛 ) and I suspect most others do. Making a list may help otherwise.

A couple of bids came in after yours, rover. Don't worry about it 😉

mine is very easy to recognize. it's the same as here with an exclamation point added on.. but like ray_g, I usually only bid in the final 30 seconds, so you wouldn't see it until it's too late

We out to stop giving away our e-bay speed secrets. Others, outsiders, auslanders, extranjeros, evil ones, might be cruising this site.

Jarvis, thanks for the heads-up on the German sellers. To think I considered it...

I've seen a German store flood eBay with used Leica gear from time to time. I can't remember if it's this one or other.

Well... time to delete that one from my watch list. Unless, of course, I simply wanna know if someone buys it.

No wonder it's still there...
