Instant digital feedback has me spoiled. Today I had the second run through my IIIF shooting students at my school. Nothing like not being quite sure of how the shot is until later and the feeling of finally seeing the images. This is probably the first time that flare has been my friend.

Shot on Kodak CN400 and put on CD by CVS (grr dust!!) until I can get a tank and reels plus soup. Then I guess I should look into a film scanner--I'll see how my Canon 8600 does with the film holder.

This is fun! I still need to get that 50mm briteline, it sucks having glasses now.

Wow ! You teach at Hogwarts ?

I've used enough borrowed digi-cams to be enticed by the instant-review feature; but it also seems to take something away... from the experience.

I do not have a digital yet, but have been getting CD's with my 35mm prints for a couple of years now.

Last Sunday, I was involved in a community chorus concert, and after warm-ups, went outside for some fresh air. It was a beautiful sunny, clear, crisp day, and leaves were still on the red maples around the French-Gothic church where the concert was, and the late afternoon sun was just right... so I went back to the car, and grabbed my III-f, with it's cruddy, flare-ey S-cron, and snapped about six pics of the church building.

I took the film to the local Ritz camera agency (first time there), inside a local dept store, and when I picked up the prints (4 x 6 ), I was fairly stunned by the brilliance of the colors, no flare (sun behind me ;) ), general quality of the image... ( okay, there were still lots of flaws caused by floccus inside the lens ).
( Kodacolor 400, GE PR1 meter)

It gave me a small taste of what the Leica is capable of... :D ....

I'm also a lot happier with Ritz's processing, than I have been with my usual lab.

I will try posting a few of those images later on...

I worry about the eventual demise of film photography... I suppose 35mm will be the last film format to go away... but I hope I go before film does...( and not any time soon !)

Glad you're enjoying your Barnack !
