Every time you forget to remove the cap, you must go without one of the following the next day: shirt, pants, shoes, glasses (if terribly nearsighted!). All day, everywhere. You will be cured in two days.
In fact, considering that you get only 8 frames per roll, change the injunction above to: "For each frame where you forget..." Etc. This way, if you blow 4 frames, you're guaranteed to experience a day of chagrin in socks and undies, and you'll be cured forever. Though I expect anyone with a rangefinder who sees you on the sidewalk will remember to remove her lens cap.
Good luck! The RF life is tough, but eventually we all become emperors with clothes on! ;-)
Wow that's going to be embarrassing, the reason I start the thread was because I managed to leave the cap on for 6 frames and only got 2 images off that roll. Thanks for the replies I'm glad I'm not alone on this. I purchased the camera from a Japanese seller on e bay, when it arrived it had a sky light filter fitted and a lens hood. With the lens hood in place it was almost impossible to fit the lens cap so I took the hood off, thinking that was a smart move. I've now replaced the hood and have a arranged my camera bag so the camera is held snugly with no chance of the lens/filter/hood coming into contact with anything and I'm going to go without the lens cap, although this goes against a lifetime of religiously replacing the cap on any camera when I've finished using it

Cameras Guitars Wonders
I recall one semi-usable image from my first 690 roll. It was probably capped for 4 of them, plus at least 1 unintended front shutter release. What's funny afterward is recalling how intent and pleased with the framing I was on the shots where the lens was blind...

Been there, done that. Nice clear negs.
Now I take the lens cap off before putting the camera into the bag I'll use.
