Greetings,

Is there any way Admin could increase the forum display size please?

Currently the display looks like this on my 27" inch screen.

I know from our own forum that uses Xenforo platform this is possible. It does make it easier for desktop users. 😉

In Mac world I use COMMAND + to increase the window zoom factor, and COMMAND - to decrease. I'd be surprised if Windows (am I right?) doesn't provide the same function.

Looks like you're using Firefox. If it's the same as my version for Mac, you can also adjust zoom by clicking on "View > Zoom" up in the menu bar.

Yes, it is Firefox 139.0.1 and no, it's Linux.

Don't know about Windows, I haven't used it since Windows XP. On Linux, Mozilla Firefox 'Zoom' is also set as a keyboard shortcut of left Ctrl, then use the mouse wheel up or down.

I can increase the size in Firefox but knowing that our own Xenforo forum can set to full screen you shouldn't have zoom in ...not mention it looks appalling when it fills the screen at 210%!

You can see the difference between the two forums from the two screen shots below.

If the Admin wants to know the settings I can soon tell them. It works with all formats, desktop, phone or tablet. 🙂

This is the default Xenforo theme. Why would you want to stretch things that wide?

Of course you know Xenforo is responsive and will adjust automatically depending on the display (mobile, tablet, or desktop.)

Have you tried the alternate theme, Shades of Grey? It has a larger viewport than the default theme.

Actually Shades of Grey is 200 pixels wider.

Making it as wide as the aquarium page just makes for a lot of empty space in the middle.

We've never had anyone mention this before! 🙂

OK, just thought I'd mention it.

Yes, I'll agree I can see there is a slight increase in size with the Shades of Grey but my screen the difference is minimal to see.

Gives members more room for text and image size. 😉

Granted, it does allow larger images. Although attachments are already limited for storage reasons. Images with pixel dimensions larger than the viewport will use the lightbox (clicking on the image will enlarge it.)

Could certainly widen the default to match the Shades of Grey theme for consistency.

Yes, although there is little need for anything too large, just for viewing on the web. We use 1600 pixels on the longest side, so any uploads will get reduced to that size. Links to images stored elsewhere can of course be larger but then they just get reduced unless the viewer clicks on the image.

Example below, this is a link to 4000x3000 image. It is reduced to fit the viewport, clicking on it opens the lightbox and using the magnifier will zoom to full size.

So I'm not sure it's necessary to have attached images any larger than 1600 pixels on the longest side.
