Until we find a better name, the Micro 4/3 forum has been renamed to the CEVIL forum -- COMPACT ELECTRONIC VIEWFINDER INTERCHANGEABLE LENS for this new and quickly growing camera group.
With that, the EVIL SLR forum took on a new meaning, so it was renamed to CLUNKY SLRS.
The best possible names? Probably not.
But that is what we have for now.

Regarding CEVILS, arguably here are no electronic viewfinder interchangeble lens cameras that aren't compact, so we can drop the C and just call it EVIL - everyone in the digital photography world has been using that pun for years.
Do non-clunky SLRs like the Pen series get their own forum now?
Anyway, remember to rename them in the nav bar on the left as well.

Nor are my OM's; I want my money back AND compensation for moral damage (for my deeply offended and inconsolable OM's of course, not for me

I have just removed my OM2n's horns and pitchfork and rehoused it in a cardboard box with a bamboo pole attached to the advance lever to keep up with the times...

A tangent, but was there ever a 35mm (or digital) SLR without interchangeable lenses?

You mean EVIL COMPACTS, no?
If C in CEVIL means compact, then why the redundancy?
I like "Clunky SLR" as mirrors go 'clunk' in SLR's.
... and yeah, my clunky OM-1 can kick your Leica's <insert favorite body part here>.

I just realised that the EVIL SLR forum was Mirrorless + SLR. Rather amusing, I thought that the EVIL stood for malign, you know, because SLR's aren't Rangefinders.
Clunky.. Well. Click... Kerrr... Chung!
My cousin was impressed with my OM-1 sound, rather powerful. And they say it's one of the most silent SLRs.

Clunky...Clunky???Clunky!!! My lovely Nikons are anything but Clunky...well maybe the F2 BUT the others No Way...i'm going to hide in the corner and cry a little now...

Yes, the Nikkorex 35, Fujicarex, and others that the lens stayed in place and basically "auxiliary" lenses screwed over them for modest wide-angle and telephoto.
Others, such as the Kodak Retina Reflex S and Contaflex had between lens shutters, but the front group was removable. Short Telephoto and modest wide-angle front components were available, like on a Kodak Retina IIIc.

Correct, that was the original intention
then these new class of EVIL cameras appeared.
"Clunky" was used only to encourage SLR's rare 2nd class status at RFF. On most sites RF's are 2nd or 3rd or 4th class or worse...

Yes, the Olympus E-10 and E-20 digital cameras. Optical TTL viewing with a reflex mirror, but fixed lenses.

I had to deal with this elsewhere. EVIL is too good to pass up for mirrorless cameras, and the name and concept predates the product by many years. I say stick with it (without the ergonomic qualifier). The only other term I've seen is DPreview's "ILC" – interchangeable lens compact – which doesn't address the unique viewing methods, and may also over-emphasize the size difference.
But if mirrorless cameras are EVIL, then it's only fair to admit that "Single Lens Reflex" isn't really a meaningful distinction, either. After all, the main difference is the viewing method, so it's worth noting that these are Optical Interchangeable Lens cameras.
EVIL and OIL. It sounds like a natural pair to me.
(And yes, I realize that a rangefinder would also be an optical interchangeable lens camera, but any acronym breaks down if you take it too far.)

This Doesn't Make Sense
This Doesn't Make Sense
It seems that 'SLR' would be descriptive and if you want to use the word 'clunky' you should rename "Large Format' to 'Really Really Clunky'. 'Film' should be named 'Outdated Technology Film' and anything digital 'Advanced Inferior Imaging'.
