I'm amazed I haven't seen any threads on the Minox DCC Leica M3. I did a forum search and only came up with one result and it was just a reference to the camera.

Is there a way to add, perhaps a Minox thread where I could post a sub catagory for this camera. I really don't think it belongs in the point n shoot thread though I understand it could go there.

that's one of those rough ones... it's not a rangefinder, though it is made to look like one. It's not even really a minox except in name (ie. not an submini 8x11 or one of their 35mm scale focus pocket cameras)... we'd be left trying to figure out what to do with their Rollie model too - does it go in the TLR forum?

For me, I think these fall under point and shoot, or if we had a novelty subforum. But at the same time, I don't want to be dismissive of them...

a quandary.

I don't think we need a separate minox brand subforum though - the subminis already have a subforum, and their other cameras are covered by the scale focus and compacts subforums...

I think you're confusing the words "thread" and "forum". A thread is a discussion topic, a forum is a container for threads (like the Leica M forum or the 120 Folders forum). It gets a bit confusing since this is called rangefinderforum (singular) but the site houses a large number of individual forums.

Anyway why not just post a thread about it in the Point and Shoot forum, since it is a P&S.

Other than being the shape of a M3 this Minox (3MP?) has nothing to do with Leica or RF for that matter. It is more a key chain item than a serious camera. It definately doesn't require a seperate forum ;).

"Serious camera". Hmm, you mean like the "serious camera" you used to take the photo that is your avatar? You know I've shot with Leica, Hasselblad, Nikon, Minolta and Sinar cameras but none of them are with me all the time.

Just pullin' your chain! I'll post in the P&S forum. Thanks for the direction gang!
