Both are collapsibles, found them while going through some filter boxes (?). Did a quick search and did not find anything in the way of reviews; I'm not a "Leica guy" and know nothing about these lenses. I have my grandfather's old Leica, along with a 35/3.5 Summaron and a 135/4.5 Hektor.

Do the 50's have any noteworthy qualities specific to each, are they distinct from one another image-wise? I'll play with them one of these days but time...

Any comments are appreciated -- thanks!

Two good ones

Oh my. You have let yourself in for an avalanche of replies, as there are lots of opinions about favorite 50 mm lenses. There is actually a sticky about 50mm preferences at the top of this forum.

Both lenses can be very good, especially if you have the newer, coated versions. Were you fortunate enough to run into examples in really good condition?

Cheers,
Dez

Thank you Dez. I see the thread you referenced is now active, didn't have to look too far.

The lenses are in great shape, they look to be uncoated. My grandfather took good care of his cameras. I'll have to spend a little time and get acquainted with this stuff... it's been stored for many years (have to learn how to load film in a camera without a removable back... scary 😱)
