Found a 50mm for my M. 5cm Summar

It is a special edition lens.
Special Summar lens (Leitz product number 42214) designed for tropical conditions. Almost unknown variant of the regular Summar (product number 42134) with an extra element at the front of the lens (optical formula B246a), which makes it a seven element lens. Leitz factory records indicate "TROPEN" for these very few lenses, which are to be found among the late Summar lenses, shortly before the introduction of the Summitar. From outside visible difference is the ball and groove held collapsing barrel, as the Summitar lenses had. The lens offered, one of very few known to exist was delivered to Schmidt, Singapore on September 3rd, 1938, compare J.L. Lager's article in VIEWFINDER vol.38

aperture ring and collapse were sticky jammed up. After moving them around a bit and dealing w/ a couple screws, everything is moving freely. This lens has not been used in the last 50yrs. Yet it regained all functions in a couple hrs.

Amazing. Try it w/ your AF lens..
Focus is a bit stiff, slightly but smooth w/ no wobble or jumps. Better than my manual AI nikons. There is something about the Leica build.

Leica glow

Summar gives the true Leica glow. Just arrived from the steppes of Kursk.

In the mid 1970s the 5cm Summar lens was one of the lowest priced used Leitz lens one could buy from those well known NYC camera stores that advertised their wares by listing category in the back pages of Modern Photography and Popular Photography magazine.

Eighteen to 27 US dollars was the usual going price for the Summar lens, not including shipping costs.
