Post some interesting photos that you found, developed after discovering a roll in your "new" camera, stumbled upon in an abandoned building, etc.

Here are mine with a little story. I found these photos a few of years ago. As I was walking down Spuistraat in Amsterdam at night some kraakers (squatters) were moving out and piling up unwanted their "garbage". I saw that a few installations with the below photos were also thrown away. I had to rescue them.

The origin of the photos is not 100% known but judging by the circumstances how I found them and the subject I can guess (with a level of certainty) what they're about:
It's Amsterdam (recognizable), it's 80's (look at the clothes), it's definitely taken by and of lesbians/feminists.

I believe both, the graffiti and the photos, must have come from the inhabitants of "Wijers", an old now defunct squathouse in Amsterdam. It was inhabitted by punks, anarchists, lesbians and other similar "outcast" fringe culture groups of the city. Squatting has a long history in Amsterdam.
So I believe these photos must have traveled from Wijers down to the squat on Spuistraat in the 80's when it was demolished(?) Many years later they ended up on the street amongst garbage. Then I came along.

What makes you think the photos are from Wijers (as long as you haven't other more obvious shots pointing to that)? I was living in Amsterdam during the eighties and was even locked in with all the other "punks, anarchists, lesbians and other similar outcasts" during the night before the evacuation. What a party we had!

Nescio - I have some other shots which I have framed and haven't scanned yet. They give some more hints. There are a few shots with graffiti referencing Wijers with these girls posing in front (slogans such as "Wijers for Chicks", "Wijers won't surrender", etc). Also, some "old-timers" I've shown these to thought these are very likely Wijers inhabitants. But of course it's not 100% sure, just most likely speculation.
It's cool to hear you're familiar with these events and environment! If you have some stories I'd love to hear 🙂

These were locked away on a roll of film I found in an Agfa Clack that I bought at a flea market a few years ago

And this is half a contact print I found when I was staying at a Gite in Tronle in the Belgian Ardennes

The name on the Sailor's headpiece is Mercator. The ship was a trainingsvessel launched in 1932. She is now a museum ship in the harbour of Oostende.
