Four Days in Denver CO

I'm taking my meterless Leicas (and the meters, of course) in a brief trip to Denver, CO, so I won't inquire about gear. Rather... are there nice spots for street and people shots? Any interesting stores to visit? Nifty places to eat (both, cheap for me, and fancy for my better-half)?

I only went to CO for a conference, years and years ago, and I wasn't even in Denver, but somewhere South and away.

Supposedly we'll be staying at a hotel in downtown. I'll found out the name of the hotel and post it later. In the meanwhile, thanks in advance! 🙂

If you're close to the capital go and visit that area...I know it sounds corny but there's alot to see down there...

If I can find the address there's a great Chinese restuarant just outside of Denver...

As Double Negative said, the 16th Street Mall is pretty cool.
I also saw loads of stuff when I walked along East Colfax Ave, a lot of stuff I wish I'd had the confidence to shoot.
I loved all the side streets too, I found a huge boarded up synagogue on my from the The Holiday Chalet vaguely towards Denver Zoo. Sorry I can't be more specific, I know it was somewhere along that way.

I'm remembering more.
On our last day there, my girlfriend met her brother and sister-in-law at Elitch gardens, which is beyond the end of the 16th Street Mall. However, I decided to go wandering with my camera. I discovered a couple of things. If you take the the free shuttle bus down to the end of the 16th Street Mall, you get to the railway station, on Wynkoop Street, which is pretty cool. Go a little further and you cross the railway line and end up in an area near the river called Little Raven Street, which had some interesting stuff knocking about. I found this square which was really interesting, lots of boutique shops and restaurants, some kids skating, and this absolutely enormous bridge going over the railway, I think.

I'm kind of excited. This trip wasn't really planned; it just came upon me a couple of weeks ago. I'm taking some of my own B&W, some color, a 50mm, 35mm and 90mm lenses with my M3 and M4-2 cameras.
