Frame lines

I am sorely tempted by the CL. A quick question on the frame lines. I would probably use the LTM Pentax 43mm lens primarily on it. Which of the adapters would be best? As I understand it, the 40 lines are there all the time. Does the 50 adapter bring up 50 lines, 90 the 90 lines and the 35 nothing?

There are always two framelines visible which is a bit annoying. 40/50 or 40/90 depending on lens attached. 40/50 is better in my opinion, because the 50 framelines are thin and dashed while 90 framelines are thick and full (like 40).

Would be better if you could find an M adapter that didn't bring up any lines, no?

Does the 135 M adapter correspond to anything on the CL?

To add, 40 and 50 lens/adapters bring up 40/50 framelines while 28/90 lens/adapters 40/90 framelines. I'm not sure on 35/135, but probably default 40/50.

Ok The 40mm framelines are always visible. When you attach a 40/50 lens then you will see both the 40 and 50mm framelines. This is the default and will also appear when you attach a 35/135 lens. The only time the framelines change is when you attach a 28/90 adapter where you will then have the 40mm and 90mm framelines visible. For the Pentax 43mm lens (Which is in fact the actual focal length of the 40mm Nokton) you could use either a 50/75 adapter or a 35/135 and the default 40mm/50mm lines will appear

I think that the M-Rokkor 40mm lens will bring up both the 40 mm and the 50mm, while the summicron 40 mm only brings up the 40mm frames.

Use the LTM lens adapter 50/75. The frameline visible in the viewfinder are 40/50.

To take off on a tangent. If you're accustomed to M Leicas or screw mounts, the CL will need some re-learning. I used one for some rolls back in 1976 or so and felt like a fish out of water.

Can any one explain to me exactly what it is on the Leica CL that the adapter should effect and cause to bring up the other framelines?
My adapter only brings up the 40mm lines, even though it is supposed to bring up 50 and 75... (I know, there is no 75 on the CL, but I would like the 50)
Is there and option to work around this problem or do I need to get a new adapter?

As far as I know (I am no CL owner ) there 3 Framelines 40 (permanent) , 50 and 90 mm (variable).
If you use an adapter for 90mm the 90mm Fl is mirrored in (40 +90 FL). All other adapters (35, 50) will bring you the 50mm FL (40+50mm).
If you look on your adapter and put the red point on 12 o´clock the FL will be brought up with the part at 7 o´clock. It differs for only few mm for the different FLs.
