Frame Skipping on Mamiya 6

My Mamiya 6 seems to skip a frame from time to time... about one time per roll. After I release the shutter and wind. the winding mechanism does not always 'catch' and it allows me to wind through the next frame. So far, it always catches and resets the shutter by the 2nd frame, but I am wasting a frame on almost every roll.

Has anyone else experienced this? Recommendations on how to rectify it?

Thanks

Mamiya 6 skipping

Haven't experienced this problem exactly, but have found that the springs pushing against the rolls weakened on one of my Mamiya 6 bodies and that allowed the film rolls to unravel a little with vibration. The film was loose in the camera and caused spacing issues.
At least pull up on those springs ( to renew their spring a little) to ensure that the film is being held in the correct tension.

Thanks. I'll check that next time I open it up.

the film advance was the Achilles heel of the kamiya 6... my understanding is that it's an outsourced part that is no longer available...

I have read about those problems and my symptoms are somewhat different than what I've read about. But, it may just be a different symptom of the same problem.

I took it in to the local repair shop. He says the advance gear ( for which there is no replacement) is fine. Another part in the transport mechanism is worn and must be replaced. ~ $200 with CLA included. Thankfully my Mamiya 6 lives on!
