after some time i didnt use it(in favor4 of teh leica m3) i found the frameline selector to be stuck - any suggestions?

Does the dial turn at all? Or does the dial turn, but the framelines do not change?

It has a small indent that rides the actual selector. It it gets knocked out, the framelines will not change with the dial. The Top plate must be in "exact position" for this arrangement to work. If the top plat moves up a bit, the coupling will be lost.

Sounds as if the top plate will have to come off so you can see whether it's just the dial itself that's stuck, or the selecting mechanism that couples with it.

If you want to try it yourself, you can do it -- if you've ever removed a top plate before, this one is pretty normal. It's been a long time since I've done this, but only tricky bit I recall is the shutter speed/ASA dial -- make sure you note down the settings before removing it. And be careful when reassembling it -- it's easy to bend the ASA disc.

And when you put the plate back on be sure that the frame line selector gets into the dial. That little piece can cause the top plate to hang up ever so slightly. And then the shutter will not fire.

i would rather a specialist would do this.
Who do you recommend and how much should this cost?
I will try to find one localy, but i'm not sure we have those.
