France 🇫🇷 - Thiers - French Capital of Knife Making

The Ponson knife is gorgeous! I love the decorated backspring.

I have a couple of Opinels. They're primitive knives; basically the modern version of a traditional French peasant's knife. The blades, however, are incredibly good. They take a razor edge easily and the carbon steel ones I have hold that edge well. (I haven't tried the stainless versions but I would guess that they're good, too). The best part is that they're CHEAP. New Opinels vary in price depending on size; they make them in about 20 different sizes from tiny ones that would work as keychain knives up to ones with blades nearly a foot long. The ones in the normal 'pocket knife' size range average about $18 brand new. That's damn near free for a European made knife; especially considering the quality of the blades.
