Has anyone attempted to fab up an adapter to use a 50mm SLR lens on a Nikon or Contax RF? Why? Because the helicoid is built into the body (or adapter, in the case of Amadeo adapters.) Now, this is a case of the lens being quite heavy for the adapter, like using the internal mounted 50mm f/1.1 and ruining the camera.
Anyway, the registration of all SLR lenses is longer than the outer dimension of the Nikon RF or adapter, so it would be easy to stick a cheap super-speed lens like a 50mm f/1.4 Takumar or an FD mount 50mm f/1.2 onto the front of a Nikon RF or Amadeo adapter then let the adapter cam the RF to proper focus. Doing a little math in the field with a tripod, this could offer some macro capabilities as well.
Just some maniacal thoughts running through my head about hacking up nice optical stuff.

I have seen an RF coupled adapter to use an F-Mount 2.1cm F4 in an S-Mount lens. It braced in with the outer mount and the lens had a coupler for the inner mount.

A Russian J-12 mount might lend itself to this.

A nominal 50mm lens may be really 50.9mm or 48.9mm and for to have a perfect focus at
infinite and at close distance must be modified the movement of the rangefinder cam and for this is needed a helical in the adapter, or a lever mechanism for to make the movement of the rangefinder cam faster for lenses under 50mm or slower for lenses over 50mm.

Zeiss has nade the 50mm lenses as close as possible to this focal plane distance for a well working in it's camera bodies, Leica do not need this precision because the cam travel can be corrected in every lens and can be noted in the rear part of them.

The SLR really do not need to be precise in this matter.
