Frankenstein Contax G1 takes Leica M-Mount lenses!

A weakness of the Contax G is that the plastics embedding the contacts in the mount is rather prone to get damaged - perhaps that was somebodies solution to salvage a camera with dead mount.

Bizarre idea. So, it's now an electronically-assisted scale focus camera? The viewfinder in the G-series cameras is horrendously small. So, not only is there that hindrance, but you have to use it to see the distance indicated within, then set your focus based on it? Wow. Forget about shooting at wide apertures with medium focal length lenses.

Yes the auction details go on to say that it would work best with wide lenses, and that everything has to be done using scale focus.

Might as well get a cheap FSU rangefinder and save a lot of money to do the same thing.
