Hi all,
I hiked down into the Grand Canyon last week and unlike my usual habit I left the LCD screen side out. the next day I discovered that the friction againt my shirt and button(?) had just about taken the anti-reflection coating off of the middle of the LCD screen. Has anyone else had problems with the LCD AR coating?
Thanks,
Charlie

I know that some of the plastic screen coverings on DSLR's are replaceable. You may want to check around to see if the same is true for the R-D1.
The AR coatings are notorious for scratching easy, so a lot of people put PDA screen protectors on them.

My own camera LCD is unscratched but I just got the long-term loan unit from Epson and it's LCD is pretty scratched up. I imagine it can happen pretty easily just with shirt buttons.

The scratches become too much then you could go to a mobile phone store and buy one of these screen polishing sets. They're strong enough to make displays of phones that are kept in pants pockets clean again..
