Free eBook - Street Photography for the Purist

In my internet travels I came upon a link to free resources (books) on the internet. And here is one quite good one (with lots of high quality example pics to learn from) on the subject of Street Photography. As street photography and rangefinders are kinda like "coffee and cake" to each other, I knew there would be many here who would love to have this link. As far as I am concerned - this one is a "keeper."

It seems legit - it does not seem to be a breach of copyright so here goes!

Oh don't tell me its been posted here before and stirred up a hornets nest! And here I am thinking I am doing my fellow photographers a good turn.

If the issue is whether the photos are any good, I would certainly not criticise them - they are better than most of what qualifies as "street photography" I have seen on Flickr.

I remember this... thanks for reposting though, it is an entertaining read for sure... I have to look at it again. I just recognized the authors name who is I guess a professional working photographer.

I'll sum it up for you:

Many: "Those pictures are lame, and the author is an a**hole and an ignoramus!"

Many others: "You're just jealous!"

Author: "I hang out with famous people and take their pictures. I must be doing something right." <insert lots of inept swearing, like we all did in that phase at about 12 years old>

Yet more from the peanut gallery: "You're a bunch of Leica worshippers!"

Leica worshippers: "Poopheads!"

Oh my goodness. I am sometimes amazed at how polite conversation amongst people discussing a hobby can sometimes degrade into name calling and acrimony. ("Poop heads" - gotta love it!)

On a macro scale, all I can say is thank God for the UN, for what its worth maybe if the same principles apply to international relations its a surprise we have not all already been obliterated in a nuclear holocaust.
