I have a nice example of this camera in the Classifieds at a knock down price. It doesn't look as if it will interest anyone,so rather than ebay it,and see a dealer offer me peanuts,I'm happy to donate the camera to any one who knows a youngster who might like to pick up film photography,or a student starting an Autumn Course (if they still exist for film users),or a school or college which could use it.Would be glad to send it anywhere, but would be glad of contributions towards the shipping cost.
My own kids(all in their 30's)are 'digitised',and my grandkids are too young, but hope that this can find a good home.If interested check the Classifieds and let me know.
Cheers,
Brian.

Good luck with it, I would have bought it from you if I didn't already have a second slr on the way (and I'm moving formats really)

It isn't a really marketable camera,or a fashionable one, hence the low price when it was on offer, but as a solid, reliable, and well made manual camera for someone learning the basics it's a good option.I hope someone,or an organisation,in that position turns up and takes it for nowt.

Are you on the CVUG list by chance? If so, talk to baba. He teaches photography in San Francisco and is always asking for old cameras for his students.
PM me if you want his e-mail address.

Also note that this model is the only M42-mount Praktica which takes the standard 44/76 button cells, the others use the dreaded 625/13, or the 4.5V alkaline 21, not counting the MTL50 which uses the somewhat standard 28 (which is actually four 44/76 stacked together).

Baba has enough cameras,so the Practica is still available.

If I was in the UK I'd be interested...unfortunately, I'm not.

I just need something for a SMC Takumar 50/1.4 to live on...but I may be getting a Spotmatic soon so I shouldn't have to worry.

Still available to a good home.I did have an enquiry from EcoLeica in N.Z.,but I see that the Agfa Karat from my good friend is on it's way down to him,so this one could go elsewhere.

Ah well, perhaps I'll put back in the cupboard.Who knows it may become interesting in the future, as a relic of our Cold War days.

Brian, there's a market for it, but you just missed it. Maybe a month ago if you offered it to sell in a local college it would be snapped up. Anyway, I hope you are well, and stamps are on their way asap, I haven't forgotten!
