Hi,
My old machine died and I moved my film scanner (a Canoscan FS 2710) over to a working machine... but now it has no software. I copied all the files over, but for some reason, there is no working scanning software (might not have been copied over, but something did not install!)
I tried downloading the program files again from Canon, but poking the installer doesn't do anything.
So, anyone know of a free scanning software that might work with my scanner and windows xp?
if not I won't have anything new for sunday.

Did you install the Windows 2000 version? That is most likely to be compatible with Windows XP.

I dunno. it worked on my other machine, which was also windows XP...

Try the link below for the Windows 2000 driver on the Canon USA site. It looks like a more recent release (2007 vs 2003).

yeah, it was the driver or something in the end... my dad figured it out...
