I have (really!) too many neat old rangefinder cameras, so I am trying to winnow some away (repeat, "I am not a collector, I am not a collector")😀 I have two cameras I'd like to send off to good homes. The first is a 1950-ish Agfa Karat 36 which had been CLA'd, but the shutter has now inexplicably jammed. It's in good shape (cosmetically and glass-wise) and was capable of producing nice images with its f2.8 50 mm Solinar. The second is a circa. 1960 Yashica model "J" with a simple and reliable Copal shutter and a decent 45 mm f.28 Yashinon lens. It was CLA'd about two years ago, and has produced some nice shots.

Both are FREE to good homes (you pay the postage or shipping). P.M. me your town/country and I will get a postage/shipping estimate). I am not looking to make money out of this, and would simply like to find good homes for these cameras where they will be appreciated and used!

I have a friend who would probably love to have one of these if you still have them. He loves photography with classic cameras, but cannot really afford any of the more sought after cameras. Let me know, and I will ask him.

I love Yashica's if you still have the "J".
My address is in the 98513 USA zip-code.
Thanks !!!!!!

Thanks for all the interest and kind replies --- I knew I was at the right place! The Yashica "J" is now spoken for by a fellow Rangefinderforumonian(?) The Agfa Karat 36 is still looking for a good home -- anyone interested in a classy split-image 35 mm folder from the 1950's which needs some TLC?

I also have an Oly 35 RC free to a good home. It was also CLA'd, with new light seals. The meter has recently stopped working, but it is, as you all know, a remarkably servicable little camera.
Same arrangement as above. I may be a little bit slow responding to P.M.'s the next few days, as I find myself suddenly buried in work. 😱

L, that's really nice of you, spreading the rangefinder bug all over the globe ! 😀

We should have a RF-Hero icon 🙂

Yes, it was me. I got the Yashica J.
It arrived earlier this week and today I finally got to shoot with it. This is my first 100% manual, no meter, no battery, no nuthin' camera. I just love it!

L's kindness has inpired me to do something nice, see the thread titled: "Since nobody wanted to buy..."

I've added a few photos from the J to my gallery. If the colors look weird it's because I used "Special Moments" film that I got for a dollar a roll. It was the only 100 iso I had and with the J's top speed of 1/300th ya gotta be carefull with film choice.
And to everyone else who wanted the J....I'm not the kind of guy who would usually say, "nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah", but this camera is so cool that I just can't resist.
Nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, I got the J, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah. 🙂
(all in good fun, no hard feelings, please)

CleverNamw,
I'm glad that you're enjoying the J and that other's have joined the the holiday giving spirit.
Now what can I part with ......... ?
