Dear Valued Freestyle Customer,

In the last edition of our Snapshot of the Industry Newsletter, I talked about the current status of Eastman Kodak Company and their announcement that they had voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 restructuring. While Kodak is still going through this process, there have been some updates worth mentioning. Some product discontinuations have been announced, such as all Kodak Ektachrome Slide films, Kodak Plus-X, as well as price increases on all film products of about 15%. We have also been experiencing some interruption of supply on a number of film and chemical products. Our purchasing department has adjusted our ordering quantities and frequency to hopefully be in a better in stock position on these items. With the supply problems we have been facing, it is important to know that our LegacyPro brand of B&W chemicals are made to the same or improved formulations as Kodak brand chemicals. We have also adjusted our ordering quantities on these items to ensure that we are never out of stock on a Kodak chemical or equivalent.

We also continue to make available chemicals discontinued by Kodak in recent years, such as our exclusive LegacyPro brand, Selectol Soft, D-76R, Microdol-X, Sepia Toner, Sepia II Warm Toner and Brown Toner. Be assured that LegacyPro brand chemicals are here to stay, whatever future events bring to Kodak.
Due to customer requests to offer lower cost shipping methods to our international customers, Freestyle is now offering a new lower cost shipping service offered by FedEx called FIMS. FedEx International Mail Service is a simple, economical solution for shipping small packages at a reduced rate. Please see our website for further details. We also continue to investigate other shipping options to keep shipping costs down.
As usual, we have worked hard to provide you with innovative products that allow you to expand your creativity. We have some very exciting new product announcements featured below, which will also be highlighted in our upcoming catalog due out mid-April.
Please keep those comments and feedback coming and remember, "Without YOU there is no US!"

That's good news for me. One of the last times I ordered from them it cost me $35 to ship $26 of film. :)

LOWER shipping costs is good news. So far I hesitated to mail-order films due to the shipping costs ...

They certainly need to act if they want to attract business from overseas. Their postage cost was much dearer than B&H.

Thanks Keith,

And I was just looking at my last ten rolls of tri-x and thinking, "this is not going to be enough for 4 weeks in Japan!" ;)

Thanks for the heads up Keith. Now to figure out if FedEx will deliver to a PO Box?....another benefit of living rural ;)

It is a good shipping option if you don't mind waiting. The website says it can take up to 45 days to arrive.

;) Awesome, now I might consider shopping from them, shipping cost has always been higher from them then from BH photo.

Yeah, noticed this the other day - will definitely ensure Freestyle gets my film business in the future!

Awesome move, and I'm getting back into film big-time!

What's prompted that Gav?

I shot a couple of rolls of HP5+ with my P67ii the other day and developed it today and realised it was the first film I've shot in months ... and it felt great! :)

This Freestyle thing is really good news IMO ... and the fact they have actually responded to feeback about their shipping charges to OS customers says a lot for them. I've always enjoyed dealing with Freestyle. :)
