From Atturri to Urola (the east part of the Cantabric Sea)

Your images speak so eloquently for themselves.

However, being me (a retired architect, still deeply involved in most things technical), I am madly keen to know about your camera equipment and technique in making these memorable photographs.

Especially how do you achieve such clarity in your black-and-whites?

I hope this won't be a digression from the power of your visuals. As they say, a little knowledge is, well, so useful to many of us.

Thank you very much @DownUnder !

About my cameras... the list is "too" large for me:

Film (fp4plus, hp5plus, kentmere pan400):

  • OM-1n
  • M5
  • EOS-3
  • Bronica EC
  • C220
Digital:
  • E3
  • E5
  • X100
  • X-PRO1
  • X-T3
  • EOS-5D
  • SONY A7
So, for me, apart from "feel, think, wait, wait, re-think, feel, wait, wait, frame, wait..." proces, for the clarity of the b/w, the most important is the light metering and deciding how expose each picture (it depends on each camera/system/film/developing...).

After I usually use LIGHTROOM (Digital cameras) and Photoshop, to get the lights well balanced.

I hope I've answered your question... and if not, ask for more info; I will try to explain it.

Thank you again for your words.
