Yesterday my local C41/scan pimp, whose plaza is being redeveloped and so he will shut down his business for awhile, offered me his C41 line for free ... which got me to thinking. If there's lots of film equipment available for the taking (and there is,) then a pro/semi-pro service that caters to RFF, APUG & other crowds might be a real business. But mail order/shipping logisitcs are always a problem, eh?

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I feel a "What's the touch-down schedule for for Earl's Most Excellent Flying Lab?" thread coming on. 😀 😀 😀

Erik: sorry to hear about your local lab; over here in NYC it seems like everyone wants to tear something down and put an ugly, hideously-priced condo in its place. But it sounds like your guy will be back in biz before too long. Here's hoping!

As far as silly airborne fantasies go, I'm more a Dreamliner guy: the thinking megalomaniac's (expletive deleted)-substitute. Someone should tell that guy on the A380 list that, among other things, the womenfolk worth impressing often reside near shorter runways. 😛

Besides: would you spend $400 million on something called Airbus? Talk about taking away what little romance there is left in flying! Give me something from Seattle any day of the week!
