Has anybody successfully found a good replacement black felt for the inside rim of the chrome front caps?

What do you use for adhesive?

Does anybody sell this stuff already made for intallation? The original had felt bonded to some sort of thin black linen.

I've already tried foam rubber, but it's too tight a fit and air pressure won't allow the cap to be pushed on.

Thanks,

Bill

Contact Jon Goodman. He is a member here and is on eBay under the name interslice. Part of his kit is 2 thicknesses of self adhesive felt which are perfect for the job.

Thanks--Jon is a fellow Texan and I know of him thru the camera-fix yahoo group and his fame as the king of resealers. I never thought to contact him though about this problem.

Thanks,

Edmund Scientific carries adhesive-backed black flock paper as well. It's part #3070621 in a 20" x 30" roll, enough for approximately 9.99 gazillion lens caps.

Wal-Mart and other such stores sell adhesive-backed black felt in sheets. It is found in the craft supply area and is quite inexpensive. Cut the strip you need, peel off the backing and press it in place. One sheet will take care of a lot of caps. I also use rings cut to go on metal eyepiecies to protect my glasses.
