Hi Mike, No problem. I understand your list. I was referring to Kiev 3, not 3A. It is one of the rarer Kievs, Kiev 1947-49, Kiev no name, Kiev 5, etc.😀
Just kidding, would the very last Kiev 3 also be valuable? The last one of the most complex rangefinder cameras?
according to my original theory 'every kiev 3 is valuable 😛
I use a Kiev 3 and Kiev 3A often and 'I like it' I like my Kiev 2 better, but the 3 is a Contax with a soviet hat on, just like the 2....😀
Funny, but when I look at my Kiev 3 all I see is a Kiev 2 with a light meter (big and ugly light meter, true) It is actually the smoothest Kiev rangefinder in my collection and the shutter sounds like a young girl gasping in my ear (softly, that is) so I'm not going to knock my Kiev 3 just to placate the masses. It's ugly yes, but it takes great pictures.

I believe Kiev 3 was regarded as the very top professional camera in the early 1950's. Some of my Kiev 3,3a are very smooth and quiet. They look more antique with a strange antiquish beauty if you look at them the same way as an antique building.😀
There's a twice weekly mini-bus service that will take cameras to Berlin or Amsterdam for me for postage in Holland or Germany. This is cheap and secure as the drivers have an arrangement with customs that deletes complications. but actual post services have been without problems so far (touches wood)
Could you do me a favour and PM me with contact information for those guys in Berlin, and maybe a rough idea what they usually charge? I live in Berlin and need to send things to Kiev every now and then, including cameras. I usually try to send things to Kiev with the conductor on a night train, but they are getting a bit reluctant now and prices have been going up.
