Isn't a SBOOI the one with the diminishing view at longer focal lengths? Does it not also cost more than a FSU camera? The russian turret-finder is far cheaper and (from what I read) better.
no, it is a fixed bright 1:1 view.
worth the money and a pleasure to use.

I searched in different languages and I have been very patient:
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320206338762
It was advertised as Leica Viseur 50mm and it is in really good conditions.
Total cost including shipping was 22.3 not 20...

Well normally it's supposed to be 50 though not 100%, so that would make it seem like 40 or 45.
This is just so that everything you see in the finder will be on the film.
Wouldn't that mean that with a 50 lens, you don't get all you see in the finder?

get a Vitomatic (II IIa IIb..) they are all 1:1 viefinder, and the viewfinder is usually cristal clear, the finish is superb. The lens is 50mm.

I love the viewfinder on my Kiev 3. the viewfinder seems to be close to 100 percent of the view as I never have extra things on the film frame, unLike my Canonets, What I see in the rangefinder is what I get on the film and nothing more!!! And the focusing patch is huge and contrasty, the largest I have ever seen on a rangefinder camera, makes focusing a charm.
The vewfinder is about 90-95 percent magification, which I find easier to use than a 1:1 vewfinder, I can see all the sides of the frame at a glance. Just my two cents... -Michael
