I own and l'm very happy with my Fuji x100 and my X Pro 1, l have both the 18/2 and the 35/1.4. now my question is this, l'm toying with buying a second fuji body so that l can ave one body mounted with the 35 and the other with 18mm. l have around £500 to spend, so do l get another X Pro 1 body, ( via something like flea bay), or do l hang fire add a little bit more cash and get a second hand XT1 via flea bay or do l get a new xt10 body. Basically l just want a second body so l do not have to change lenses very often, why well l feel less change less dust on the sensor

if you shoot EVF maybe look into the XE1
the XT1 is fantastic with fast AF, however if it matters to you it has an SLR style body

I have an X100 and an XE1, 18mm, 35mm, 18-55zoom.
I am wondering about a 3rd body as well, and it will very likely be another XE1 or XE2.

If I were in your shoes, and I sorta' am, I think I would hang tight and wait a bit. Why? I think the XP2 *may* be just around the corner. Well, maybe it is a few more corners, but I'd wait. No harm if it doesn't show up, by say the new year, as all the other kit will be cheaper and/or updated. You can use the time to save up.

If the money is burning a hole in your pocket, the XA and XM are nice and would be a real treat with the stubby 18 and maybe a 28 finder if you like optical. Buy the XA if you like the original X100 output, the XM if you are an X-Trans fan. They are way under your budget presently. You could pick up a 27 too!

The X-T1 is faster and more versatile than the other options. The newest firmware is a true upgrade. The X-T1's strengths may not be important to your photographic goals.

I would wait for the next X series model.

Perhaps you should consider the TCL-X100 teleconverter to solve your immediate problem?

The xe2 is scheduled to get an xt1-like firmware update this Fall.
This is probably the best reason to go with xe2 over an xe1.

i work extensively on a pair of X pro bodies, and 18mm and 35mm with the 60mm in my pocket. day in day out. for all the concerns about the x pro it continues to surpass my needs for quality files and functionality and i suspect it will be so for quite some time.

X Pro bodies can also be had for an absolute song these days.

i played with the xt10 this weekend and was very surprised at how small it is…but not pleasantly surprised..it is too small and i have smallish hands for a guy.
i put the new 90 on it and it was way out of balance…i now use the 3 fast lenses, 16/23/56 and find the xe1 a nice size with a perfect balance…i'd like to get an xe2 for the new firmware upgrade or an xe3 if one ever appears.

Try MPB Photographic for reasonably priced bodies and no eBay risk. No connection to the website etc.

I'm always wondering why people do push specific shops - in your case, why push MPB photographic? Why not Ffordes or Mifsuds or Harrison? Those all have several reasonably priced Fuji cameras in stock and are in the UK. So, why MPB?

Edit: I have to add London Camera Exchange to the list....

I saw an Xpro one with 3 batteries and high end grip sell for $300 on Another forum this week.
You 500GBP will go a long way in the used market.

For both 18 & 35mm I like the optical finder in the xpro 1.
For longer or zoom tge XE1 ,XE2, or one of tge XT bodies is better as the EVF in those cameras is improved.

If you don't plan to arrive at more lenses get a used xpro1 and pocket some cash.

On the other hand you could easily buy and XE1 and the excellent 18-55 for you £500 budget.

Cheers Mike!!

thanks for all the help and replies chaps, a lot to mull over, as ever I am very very grateful for all your replies and help

I voted for xe2 given the fw update coming soon and the used price for one. But if u don't mind stretching to budget, the xt10 is the one to get.

If you have Fujifilm lenses, I'd look at a body only X-T10 and a hand grip for it. It gives you almost the same abilities as the X-T1 without the expense. It's a better sensor and autofocus than both cameras too.
