it's out already?
images looks great.
how does it fare on handling?

how does the corners fare at 15mm at various aperture stops?

wouldn't mind getting this or the old XC 16-50 for the X-E1

mcbain camera ordered only 1 lens for all its stores...i don't feel much love from them as far as this little lens goes. they only ordered this one because i pre-ordered it. i have only shot a very little bit with it so can't really give more than an impression or two.
it handles very well, zoom ring has a nice feel to it but it will take a few more outings to get the feel/speed of it down. virtually silent...it's a pancake lens so even smaller than the 16-50...as you zoom the barrel barely extends...biggest drawback so far is that it's slow...no hood supplied.

i can see why dslr folks like the 24-70 so much...like the 15-45, the view is delicious.
no problems or worries associated with the lens so far. it focusses easily although it has got jammed up twice in the depths of a dark hallway.
the focal lengths covered with the zoom matches many of my favourites so it's like carrying a few lenses on the body and nothing else to carry except for an extra battery.
i look forward to warmer weather and the opportunity to stay out longer on the street and to see if i can be as fast as i'd like to be.

noticed a negative about the new lens...
normally when i hit the 'play' button on the back of the camera body for reviewing images, it turns on almost immediately...not so lately...i looked at everything i could think of, like batteries how full the sd card is...turns out the 15-45 is slowing down the turn on speed. did the same exact routine with my other xe3 body with same results.
kinda strange.

Will it be as short lived love affair?

i don't think so...i quite like using it.
i will never be a one camera/one lens guy though...i like using different focal lengths.
if i had to choose one lens it probably would be the 16 even though 16 is covered by this lens,

What's next? 90mm?

For me... I think I'll get rid of the X-T2 and get a X-T20. I love the X-Pro2 and the X100F. The X-T2 doesn't give me anything I care about and prefer the X-Pro2. However, the X-T20 gives me small size while still doing most of what the X-T2 does.

no interest in the xe3? looks like a lil' rangefinder:)
the xt20 is a great camera...feels a touch heavier than the xe3...bot need a grip fo best handling...tilting screen is nice but i rarely used it.
not too sure about next...keep going back to the 90 and the 80 and the 80 would be pretty good for summer shots and winter macro.
and for some strange reason i keep looking at the 14 again.
but lenses will be added more slowly now as i really am not sure about what's next.
tho an even dozen will be nice.

I just can't get into the X-E series... though I will buy a X-E1 as a cheap throw away body soon.

Hmmm, ever thought of the 10-24mm zoom?
