After reading through this thread I have another thought to throw into the mix. I already own the X100s. Its a camera that provides precisely what I want from a 35mm lens… compactness, reasonably fast, and fast focusing. Notice that I didn't say super sharpness or great bokeh. The reason is that I use 35mm lenses almost exclusively for street photography. For these purposes, the lens on the X100/s is PLENTY good enough. For me there's no reason to swap the perfection of the X100s for a big, somewhat cumbersome kit of X body plus 23/1.4. If I want the speed & bokeh, I find the 35/1.4 on X body to be excellent.
