Have not seen many comments about the 55-200, perhaps because it is just getting out but thought I would give you my thoughts as I picked mine up on Saturday.
1. The lens is a good build. Depending on what you think of weight can be positive or negative but the solid build adds to the weight and therefore you can definitely tell you are holding something. This in size and weight Nikon 70-300VR size i think.
2. Images are nice from the little I have used the lens so far. Bokeh appears nice to me as well.
3. Focus can hunt a bit and run the full course as there is no limiter. I tried to focus on some very small flower types at pretty much close focus distant, about 4 ft. You need to make sure the focus point/square is adjusted to the right size or it can miss a small object. Focus speed to me was like x pro when it first came out. I did latest firmware update as well for the lens.
4. Manual focus binding and smoothness is nice on both the focus rings and distance rings. The aperture ring to me feels good as well. More on the lines of the 35 1.4 rather than say the 14, which is very loose and can be knocked easily.
5. To me, definitely feels like you are getting back to the DSLR size with it on the camera, though understand the restrictions Fuji was working within. Some people will not like it for that reason. I will have limited uses with it but believe I will be keeping it.
6. Price is right, $700....I use to spend a lot more on my Nikon glass.
7. A removable Tripod mount is something that maybe should have been considered as well.
Anyway, just thought I would update everyone.
