Has anybody an address for having a fuji 690 lens CLA'd. It is the 100mm (first version) of the interchangable lenses and the shutter has issues.

Nothing more than an oil change probably as the camera it came on was very dusty and clearly very long time not used. Other possibility is the M setting that is causing problems.

Or is there anywhere a good site explaining how to do this yourself? I'm not scared of delving into something like that but at least some explanation would be nice.

Not Europe, but suggest a telephone call at least..

Frank is on your side of the US, and In my worlds the absolute "Go To" man on
Fujica rangefinders of all sizes and models from the small 645 to the Texas Leica Big Boys camera. No short pants allowed.

These lenses are getting old and if yours has slow long speeds???

I know you probably don't want to pay overseas shipping, but you might invest in a call to Frank to speak with him about these lenses. I have paid Frank to overhaul about a dozen Fujica's over the years, including two bellows on the GS645 folder.

Consider speaking with him. He may know a European counterpart. He may have suggestions. Technically it's just another shutter. In real life it's a Fujica and Frank would be my solution if it's serviceable.

Not what you were asking for, but hope it may help you. It's OK to tell Frank you got his name from "Lars in Oregon".

Problem is not paying for the shipment, problem is customs (they are really a pita here) and probable damage in transport. They even managed to damage a G690BL packed in a lot of bubble wrap.

Problem is indeed the slow speeds. It doesn't open always brisk and I hear the clockwork isn't running regular.

I, too, can speak to Frank's masterful craftsmanship. He completely overhauled the shutter in my G690BL's 100 3.5 and performed a full CLA while he was at it. I understand the shipping/customs woes, but urge that Frank is THE guy to go to. I'd take Kuzano's advice and at least contact him to see what his thoughts on the matter are. Chances are he knows someone (who may know someone, etc. etc.) that can help you out.

My fuji is absolutely PERFECT now. Cheers!

Andy

I stopped those due to lack of clients but still have some parts lubes and tools from fuji for those lenses.

the question is where in Europe are you, I can probably send a message in the teckies network asking who does those near from you and if it's a trusted one sending you to him

M setting works only when the film is loaded.
Simple camera to adjust the shutter, any camera repariman or woman that has experience with film cameras should be able to do so.
Where are you from?

I'm in Belgium near Brussels. I have located an ex Fuji person and waiting for a reply. But holiday is coming so it could take a bit before I have a reply.

Yep, any camera repairmen can probably do this. But so far more than one said they probably could do it but they decline to do it. Problem is they don't have spares and if they brake something they can't repair it. So they don't taken the risk. I can understand that.

I don't know a lot of repair technicians that keep spares in case they break something, my whole spare parts stock is designed to be able to replace parts that are broken and so mess with the camera function, plus few extras for exceptional cases when the client was rought with his gear and broke things he wasn't suppose to break. but those last parts are just eating space...

If your ex fuji guy doesn't answer know that I'm full untill the end of august.
