Hi,
apologies if this is really lame but I've recently bought a Fuji 690 (pretty old I think) but I don't know what model number it is. It has a 90mm f3.5 lens.
There is a dial on the top plate with what looks to be an 8 and a 4 in each position but i can't be sure as the letters have rubbed off over time. Can anyone shed any light onto what these originally said and more importantly what the dia lis for. I'm guessing it could be something to do with 120/220 film selection but would like to know????
Thanks,
TonyP

Tony,
Your camera is a GW690. As you say it is really old, I guess it is the GW690 Mk 1 from 1983.
The dial on the top plate is the film selector. It has 3 positions:
- 16exp./220 film
- 8 exp./120 film
- 4 exp./short 120 film (this "half 120" film type has been produced for a few years, mainly for the Japanese market)
Cheers,
Abbazz
