I love it in 120. The lack of reciprocity failure is just heaven sent for long exposures

I use a lot in 135. It's my tripod film.. no reciprocity failure. The other film I use is HP5. I have some Acros left in the frig. I guess i'll move to Ilford for all my film. Too bad, after their "we're committed to film" Ads of a couple of years ago .. just Ad hype.

Nice, quality film, one of my favorites. Ah well. Just bought as much as I could afford. Maybe it will last as long as I do.
I used to think that if they ever quit making ACROS that would be the end, I would quit shooting film entirely, and slink back to digital (“It’s sharper!” they screamed), but, now that the time has come, I think I will just putter on, screwing up some other emulsion.

I'm guessing the fourth column says end of production in Oct 2018, with end of distribution expected in Oct 2019. Am I right?

Kodak and Fuji have been slashing films for some time. It's why I now mostly shoot Ilford.

I used to think Acros gave a toneless, digital look too until I saw how people were developing it over on APUG.......wow, my negs never looked like theirs. I can't remember the developer and protocols, but this is a film that has wonderful tonality when developed properly.

Commiserations to those who used it. I haven't been a big fan of Acros but I feel the sting of this. Just last week I went to buy some Fuji Superia 200, which is my favourite colour negative film. You can guess what I was told. :bang:

Seriously disappointed. I don't have any examples handy but exposed and developed at 200-400 it's been one of me favorite films - and not one easily replicated. Just like neopan 400 and 1600 before it. Really sad news.

Screw Fujifilm! It's just horrible how they are eliminating the finest films the world has.
It's just horrible the situation the film world finds itself in. Kodak is sinking into another round of financial misery, putting their future in doubt. Meanwhile, Fujifilm is a very profitable company and is discontinuing all their films.
We just can't win.

ACROS is one of my favorite films, perhaps my favorite, and I have just ordered all I can afford. Not a great day for film photographers, as has been noted.
But, Fuji is a business not a charity, and businesses exist to make money. A business will continue ad infinitum to do anything which is profitable. The notion that that Fuji is/was making money by producing ACROS, and is withdrawing it from the market to hurt photographers who like it, even though withdrawing it hurts their bottom line.....that’s..an inaccurate description of Reality, to put it in the mildest possible terms.
They are withdrawing it because it has become unprofitable for them to market it, all things considered. Obviously. That’s how the world works, except in the mind of conspiracy theorists.
So Fuji does not deserve to be “screwed”. It’s us. Well, not us, exactly. It’s the Sensor People. The Phone People. The Modern World. Screw the world.
Ooooh, that sounds harsh. That’s where the trouble lies though.

Truly sad. Acros is wonderful with Rodinal and stand development... I hope this turns out to be a bad rumour.
