I was just browsing through some of Fuji's websites on different countries around the globe and I noticed that many of them no longer have Fuji B&W film listed as a product, only colour neg and colour reversal films... does anyone know what is going on here? Have Fuji decided to call it quits in the B&W film market?

I've not yet tried their Neopan films but have seen many wonderful examples on the 'net. It would be a pity to see these fine films bite the dust.

I think you are reasonably safe. I know Neopan 400, 1600 and Acros are still available at B&H and elsewhere.

Given Japan has a large population of enthusiasts who still appreciate film, I think it will be around for a long time ;)

Megaperls

Welcome to RFF.
You can try the Megaperls web. I buy my fuji Neopan (you can search in this forum for opinions about his (excellent) service.

I hope Fuji continues to produce B&W as I just started to use theirs. I see no reason why they wouldn't. Fuji does seem to have big differences in what they sell in different markets of the world, so the variation you noticed is probably not something to worry about.

I too can reccomend Megapearls. I buy the Natura 1600 color film from him. It is reasonably priced and it arrives quickly.

Does anyone have experience with the Neopna Super Presto 1600 that he sells? I have been using the Neopan Professional 1600 available in the US alot lately and I like it, but it is super contrasty.

Acros absolutely RULES! And Neopan 400 is not bad either. I'll think Fuji's committed. As mentioned above there's Megaperls if for some reason it gets hard to get in the US or Europe. That said I heard bulk rolls of some of Fuji's B&W will be discontinued. I just loaded up on Tri-X, Plus-X, HP5+ and Delta 100 when I found some good deal on some expired stuff but I still think I'll get me some Acros and Neopan 400 100' rolls just to store in the freezer. That said if you ever come across it try the Fuji 100SS. A nice classic B&W.
