Fuji classic chrome goodness

Since I acquired a graphite x-t1 (long time fuji user though) I've been shooting mainly with the classic chrome JPEG simulation. I've gone as far as completely negating shooting RAWS unless for studio use or something where color accuracy and white balance is absolutely crucial.

With it's subdued colours, gentle contrasts and film-like subtleties I haven't ever been this happy with JPEGs out of camera. I added grain for the first shot here:

Post your examples and thoughts on the classic chrome goodness!
 
Highlight detail in the clouds seems to be missing in the first shot. At least I cannot see it in the small image attached, is it there?
Film will capture that.

Don't worry it's there alright. I usually expose that sort of photo quite hot anyway. Regardless, I just pulled back some detail on it, just for you ;)

Bruh 500px on the long end isn't that small, it's not like it's a thumbnail. Go to the link in my sig and click the individual photos if you want to see them at a generous size.

Strange, on a retina macbook pro which is higher resolution than a 1080p monitor, I can see them just fine. Possibly your browser is 'zoomed out' rather than viewing at native/actual size? But thanks for the tip, If I posted photos here more often I'd have a hosting site for resizing specifically for this forum. Alas, laziness.
 
On my MacBook Air with a piddly 13.3-inch (1440 x 900) screen the images are big enough to evaluate.

I use the Classic Chrome simulation as the starting point in LR on all my non-gig photos. I really like that look.

For interiors gigs I prefer the Pro Neg STD Fujifilm simulation as a starting point. This LR Camera Profile lifts the shadows nicely and pulls highlights. This works better for how I expose interior photographs.

Thinking of heading back to an x100. I need a leaf shutter (ok, not need but want!)

Does anyone know?.... Can the x100s do classic chrome?
 
I'm sure you could make them richer if you took it down 1/2 stop, but nice palette either way. Also, the second photo makes me wonder what all these elaborately detailed tattoos are going to look like on ageing bodies? This one looks good, now.
 
With regards to getting classic chrome presets for older X100 series cameras, I read on FujiRumors that the latest version of Silkypix will be released Feb 28 I think for free download.

Most people HATE Silkypix (I don't think its that bad), but if you want classic chrome I think that is going to be your only option for older X100 series cameras, unless it comes in firmware which I doubt.
 
Wow, those look great. Are the ones on your tumblr also classic chrome?

I'd love to see some more examples!
 
If you use C1 Pro, there are some ICC profiles that a kind-hearted soul at DP Review made public, including a classic chrome profile. That particular one was optimized for the X-T1, but produces sometimes appealing results from XP1 output, too.

Fuji have promised to make classic chrome available to users of earlier cameras, but I can't remember if that will include firmware.
 
They are releasing a new RAF converter (Silky Pix?) that will have it baked in.

Of course, anything using ACR can also apply Adobe's version (though they worked closely with Fuji on it).
