Apparantely there are 2 kinds of 800 ASA Fuji color print: X-tra 800 ASA and something with Press Professional. Which to buy or is it the same film ? I suppose it better not to take these films through the security systems on the airport ?
Any experiences ? I read excellent reports no grain...

I've used the Press Professional. I don't think there is much difference between the two. It is great at 800, better at 1600 pushed than Fuji 1600 itself. There is another 800 in the Fuji NP line, I believe it has less contrast (not sure if they make it in 35, maybe they do for wedding photogs).
If you can over expose it a little, it's even better.
Re Xray, carry on machines should be OK but effects are cumulative. If you are changing planes a lot, you should worry.
Do not check in rolls, since those Cat-Scan type xray machines will fog it.

I haven't used the Press 800, but the Xtra 800 is nice for me.

The Fuji 800 NPZ is quite nice and is available in 35. Beautiful color reproduction (IMO) and scans well for me. I buy mine through Adorama in 20 pks. It's my favorite color 800.

I use the regular off-the-shelf Fuji 800 regularly and I'm very happy with it. Grain is not bad, better than the Kodak Max 400, AFAIC, and the saturation is good. They tell me that the "press" version is really the same stuff. I've had good luck with the 1600 as well.
I always ask for a hand inspection at the airport. I've never had one refused here in the States.

I've only used one type of 800 iso colour film. That's the Fuji stuff you buy from Walmart. No complaints here.

I've shot both, the press (which is my choice) seems to have slightly more apparent grain, but is also a little more definative w/ colors and seems to have better lattitude then the xtra800.

I think it's the Press that I've used before. I don't shoot a lot of color, but when I've shot with this at night I was pretty blown away. It's great for dark scenes with splashes of color--city lights, etc. I'm sure it's great for other stuff too, but I loved it for that.
