Nice set of updates.. No mention of af performance improvements but finally the min. Shutter speed in auto-iso. 😀. The rest of updates are nice as well...

This is one of the reasons I bought into the Fuji system and left Olympus to rot. When I bought the just out EP1 a matter of weeks later they announced a new model and then I couldnt even give my camera away. That left a very bitter taste in my mouth.
Fuji has made a customer out of me for their support of our hardware. I am pleased to see the Auto ISO fix which is something I used a lot. Would have been nice to see the focus peaking system refined a bit with different colors but I will take what I can get.

I don't think I've ever owned a camera that did everything that I wished it did so living with the foibles of the XP1 hasn't been hard or even a new experience. However Fuji's very regular updates to keep the camera as up to date with newer releases and fix what many may consider oversights is, to me at least, a welcome breath of fresh air.
Perhaps this makes me a fanboy? A redundant and childish description if ever there was one. IMO 😉

I don't think that any other camera company spends as much time w/ supporting their customers w/ fw updates as much as Fuji does. Especially when u look at new features that camera did not originally ship with. W/ other companies we would only c it in their new cameras. Other companies like Sony, turn over their camera bodies so fast, that if u don't need cutting edge, better to wait for the clearance sale.
Their marketing strategy went after the serious amateur community first before starting anything else. Look at their initial lens and csc body lineup and how they filled in their camera bodies.
Their lenses xf lenses are some of the best out there.. The normal consumer xc stuff is actually not bad, IMHO.

I'm looking to get out of digital, but I'm pretty sure if I was ever going to return, Fuji is the only company I would consider, as Canikon have been trying their hardest and doing a fantastic job of letting down their fans and loyal customers.
Fuji deserves the applause they receive. Very commendable. Canikon would tell customers to go f&@# themselves and buy the "NEXT NEWEST AND GREATEST CAMERA EVER TO BE RELEASED" and force another purchase, rather than support their products.

Wooohooo! Minimum Shutter speed!! A more accurate OVF is also super nice.
Right about Fuji, I mean no other company would have so drastically improved the x100 when there is a x100s on the floor. Fujifilm is pretty cool.
I took my Xpro for a midnight stroll last night. Was impressed how well it focused in low light & low contrast scenes. The difference was "like night and day" from when I first got the camera 😉

Was that the big FW release 10 months after the release of the 7D successor, the 7DS? Maybe there is hope for us 5D users!
Looking forward to December 19th and X-E1 auto ISO!

not sure if you are joking or not but the 7D Version 2 Firmware was released almost 3 years after the initial launch.

I think 3years is the point. Canon actually continues to support the 7D.

When folks get too happy about a tax refund I remind then the government is just returning their money that they borrowed interest free. Updates are nice but perhaps fuji should've done this originally?

the 7D had magic firmware that made the mirror move faster 😀 ... anyways i really like mine and not sure if i would have bought the cam without the V2 update
well not exactly the same because people bought the camera accepting its faults (for the most part if they were informed) so anything else after that is a welcome bonus

Sorry, my point is that the 7D is still a current camera in the eyes of Canon. A Mk.II is a possibility for 2014 maybe, so why shouldn't they support it? They are not improving a product that had already been replaced, and are certainly not cutting into a potential replacement's sales. Really, they were fixing some regarded handicaps, and quite long into the production cycle at that.
Fuji is releasing FW updates for cameras that have already been replaced in the lineup for some time. THAT is support, and what I believe warrants some praise. Sure, they may be losing a sale here and there on new product, but they are smart enough to know that a happy customer is a loyal (repeat) customer.
That is, of course, about the X100 and not the XE or XP, but I purchased an XE based on that support. Now, a few weeks after the launch of the X-E2, I am happily awaiting December 19th and another FW release for my lowly X-E1.

I partially agree with his statement. Fuji has to upgrade their older cameras because they have to. There are so many used Fujis floating around in the market. Past owners do not want to invest in new Fuji cameras.
Other manufacturers don't show this kind of support down the line, true, but their cameras do not have the same deficiencies that the Fuji X cameras have.
I agree that it's great of them that they're continually trying to make their older cameras better, but it really would have been nice to have had these features from the start. I, for one, would have not sold my Fuji X kit if it had been better in the AF and EVF department.
