GA645 users, have you experienced the finicky control dial problem? I have tested two different cameras over the last year, one a bit rough and the other near-mint, and they both have this issue.
When adjusting the aperture in either A or Manual, the dial seems hyper-sensitive and tends to go past the desired setting and even sometimes goes all the way around. Eg: I'm at F11 and spin the dial to go to F19 and end up at F4.
Is this a common quirk with these cameras, or just a coincidental problem with the two models I've tested?
Thanks!

I've only shot two rolls with my recently-acquired GA645, but the control dial (for adjusting aperture) seems ok. I did have an issue with the other dial, moving to Manual accidentally after I had set it to AE. That is something I'll have to be careful with.

I have the same problem, but don't want to part with it to get it fixed!
It's the "i" version.
It's been the same since I bought it from a dealer about 5 months ago.
It happens when changing aperture or shutter speed & can be bloody frustrating when it's really playing up!
Eventually I manage to get the lcd to behave, take my finger off the dial & it stays still.
Exposures have been fine.
I figure it's a manageable problem compared to the camera malfunctions (of medium format digital) that I've experienced when assisting.
I'm trying to get hold of another one, so I can send this one off to (hopefully) be fixed!

At least I'm not alone. Have you confirmed that this is a common glitch that can be fixed or are you sending it off in hopes that it CAN be fixed?I have the same problem, but don't want to part with it to get it fixed!

Ambitious, but rubbish
I have similar issues, but they are not bad enough to be a real problem.

Mine does the same thing. With mine if you gently put pressure on the dial the aperture setting would jump around a bit but if you clicked it solidly then no problems. Strange.
With the camera off I 'exercised' the wheel a little bit- back and forth, gently. This seems to have made a difference. I am going to take it out this afternoon to really see.

Same problem here. I sent it for repair a while back, but still haven't received it. I hope they can fix it. It can be annoying when the dial skips.

I took mine out yesterday for a roll and a half and had no problems with the dial.
Aparat, where did you send your GA? Fuji USA or somewhere else? I have a problem with my flash (always flashes) that I wouldn't mind fixing.

I just picked up minty GA645 that I've hardly gotten my first roll into. Just tried the dial, and at least for this sample, I don't see any sign of the erratic behavior you've described.

I'm happy for you, and bit jealous!I just picked up minty GA645 that I've hardly gotten my first roll into. Just tried the dial, and at least for this sample, I don't see any sign of the erratic behavior you've described.
I went ahead and bought the one with the finicky dial because it was such a good deal regardless!

As well you should be. Mine is lurvely, came with the original hood, soft case, soft case for the hood, strap, manual (in Japanese though) and the shutter count is... 100!
On the other hand, I paid a goody stack of nickles for it. I'm sure you got a much better deal on the pocketbook.
