Just wanted to clarify something. The GA645/GA645w does not read the barcodes; only the 'i' models do.
Also, unless I'm completely mistaken, I believe my GA645 imprints the exposure data below the neg, not between frames.
As for the 'point & shoot' part -- mine stays in aperture priority mode since I like DOF control. I don't see this as a sin; most people who tout the wonders of 'manual exposure' just fiddle with the dials until the meter says OK which is just more labor to arrive at the same result.
Yes, I was referring to the GA645zi.

You can also check the total shot indicator to see how many times the shutter had been released.
Is this possible to do on the GA645? I cant find any mention of it in the manual.
Anyway I shot a test roll of Fuji 400H rated at 320.
The following is at F4.0, 1/400 and this lens/camera/method of working really excites me!:

Pics look good! Congrats on a fine camera. What's that folder in the picture?

Does 645Zi only read the barcode on the Fuji films? I throw the Kodak films in, but 645Zi can't auto adjust the ISO.

Yes, as far as I know it only reads the Fuji bar codes.

checking the shutter count
Hi, I'm pretty new to the forum, but this thread caught my eye. First, how do you check the shutter count?
also, I have both the GA645i and the GA645wi.Is it just me or does the wide version seem a bit on the distorted side? I'll post some of my NY street pics soon, but even as a fan of wide angle,i was a bit surprised.
any perspective out there? preferences amongst the group?
thanks!

Hold down the +/- button while turning the selector dial from OFF to ISO. The count will appear in your top LCD. Mine reads 015 00, or 1500 actuations.
Welcome! I too have a GA645Wi, a very fine camera. Looking forward to seeing your pics. Just looked over a bunch of mine in search of rectilinear distortion but can't really say I found any. Look for a photo with a know-straight line running near one edge and check it for straightness. If it's curved, that's rectilinear distortion (either barrel or pincushion). Converging lines on buildings, for instance, with the camera tilted, is perspective distortion, an optical characteristic of all lenses but more noticeable in wide angles. The Fuji's 45mm gives about the same "wideangleness" as a 28mm on a Leica for instance.Hi, I'm pretty new to the forum, but this thread caught my eye. First, how do you check the shutter count?

Total shots indicator: Press the Exposure Compensation button and turn the Selecting Dial from OFF to ISO. While pressing the button, the LCD will display the total number of shots taken, in increments of 100... the final two digits always show “00” to indicate the previous digit is in hundreds. See page 33-4 of your GA645 manual.
Have fun!

I just bought a GA645, it is on the way to me. I had the option to buy the original flash to it, but as it is a computer flash I didn't invest. I have tons of such flashes here.
My questions regarding flashes:
- Can I use older flashes or will I fry the electronics in the camera?
- I understood the original flash covers a much more bigger angle than normal flashes. It does so to cover the portrait format. I have some older flashes with the tube and case oriented in portrait direction. Would these cover the entire image area?
Regarding the data microimprints: do the i models imprint between frames and the generation before i under the frame or do all generations imprint under the frame?
Tuolumne, what do you mean by that? I don't understand how this works.

And you can use the auto fim advance to load the film onto the spool at the beginning.
