Fuji GA645Zi Owners - a question......

I have just purchased one of these excellent cameras and have a question about how the exposure compensation is displayed.

I have noticed that on the rear LCD it clearly shows the level of exposure compensation, however if I look through the viewfinder when I am adjusting the level of compensation, the number is visible(e.g.-1.0), but very very dark and pretty much impossible to read. If I half depress the shutter the LCD info in the viewfinder goes to full brightness and the +/- icon is displayed brightly along with all the other info, but if I press the +/- button again to change the level of compensation, the viewfinder lcd goes dark again and the compensation level although visible is almost completely black (no backlighting).

The rear LCD panel works perfectly.

My question is - is this normal? The manual does not really say one way or the other.

I have this camera and love it, except for the fact that in order to conserve battery life (it does go a long way on a battery) they made the viewfinder light go out too quickly after half-depressing the shutter. It's not your pressing it again that turns it out--it just goes out quickly by itself. If the camera were still in production, I'd suggest to Fuji that they add a couple of seconds to the time the light stays on. It's my one beef. It is, however, a superb picture-taker.

Another new (unqualified?) GA 645 Zi user.

After picking up my new used KEH Ga645Zi from my mail shelf at work, I had to endure a 3 hour meeting before I could load it up with Neopan 400 and begin shooting. I rushed home and into the darkroom where I proceeded to develop the film. I can just make out the light fixtures of the interior shot in the first frame. The rest of the shots were totally blank. I had gone outside to shoot the rest of the film. I made sure to set the ISO to 320 before shooting and the LCD panel confirmed the "120" pressure plate orientation. I shot the entire roll on Aperture Preferred Auto, using f11 as it was very bight outdoors. I don't understand what happened, usnless of course I am so clueless. I have this question: Am I doing something wrong or is it the camera? Is it some really silly oversight on my part?
