Does anyone here speak Japanese?
The manual for the Natura is in Japanese.
My camera suddenly flashes the digit 8, and everything is locked.
It is a hassle when nobody is willing to take a look at this camera in the USA.

Does anyone here have such a camera?
I need your help.

I have the camera, but no English manual. Maybe you could get it translated by someone here.

.

Ray,
It suddenly started flashing the number 8 today, and all functions are locked up. What would you do if this happened to your camera?
I have taken out the battery, with the hope that the camera unlocks.

do you know what you were doing at the time it started flashing that?

When I had the Natura there were a couple times when I took a picture outside of my moving car and the force of the wind wouldn't allow the lens to move causing the film advance to seize

Each time I would have to take out the film and allow it to rewind ... with the film in nothing would help (removing the battery or anything like that)... only removing the film

Anyways

I once had the link the online manual which I was able to translate with google ... but I must have lost it when upgrading my computer earlier in the year

Pete,
I really did not do anything special when it happened.
The good news is that after removing the battery for 15 minutes and putting it back, the camera works again. It may have a difficult temper, as you said above.

I need to search for the online manual.

shiro-kuro,

Thanks a lot. I will do that as soon as possible.
I need to know how to operate the camera fully and how to understand error messages.

So in everything with batteries the windows method might work: restart.
Or in this case, batteries out and in again. Good to remember!

Rob,
Yes, it seems to work with electronic cameras. I first took the battery out and returned it after a few seconds; this approach did not work. I then left the battery out for about 15 minutes, and the camera recovered.

The camera was rewinding the film when the flashing 8 started. It was a regular 36 exposure XP2 roll of film.

I have a manual of Natura, and have read now.
May be the closest situation is;
Indication: The digit of film counter is flashing.
Cause: You may took out the film before rewinding.
Provision: You can take out the battery following the film. And confirm that the digit of film counter is went out after pressing the power switch. Then you can load the battery into the camera.

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks! This is what it looks like in my case. Somehow, the camera thought that I removed the film to early. :)

Fuji Film just returned my call ... Chair_Man is correct .... Also these cameras have no error codes .... and they have no english manual which of course they apologized profusely : ) Japan has amazing customer service ...any way I can see what I can do with the manual translation ..in the meantime if you have any specific questions just post them here as I am sure they will get answered also I am willing to call Fuji Film on your behalf anytime ...

Shiro-kuro,

Thanks a lot for your efforts.
I think that what happened is that the camera thought that I was using a 24 exposure roll when in fact it was a 36 exposure roll. When only 8 frames were left, it rewound the roll.

Good information. I'll keep this in mind in case I run into the same thing with my Natura.
