Fuji Natura + Fuji NR-400

FWIW, I find NPZ800 (now Pro800) works superb with the Natura at between +0.5EV to +1EV.

Lloyd, I too tend to set the natura to +1.0 ev when shooting anything other than 1600 speed film

I haven't quite figured out if you can change the exposure when there is 1600 speed film in the camera

I still have a roll of Delta 3200 that I am aiming to run through it

NP mode will automatically kick in if you put 1600 film into the Natura, which is a camera-controlled EV compensation based on a plotted exposure table. Its explained in some detail on the Natura microsite but I can't read Japanese. I don't know if you can still utilise EV control in NP mode. I remember reading somewhere when the Natura was first released that in NP mode the lowest shutter speed is locked at 1/45 second, so some functions do become limited.

If you blacken out the DXcode on the film, won't the camera be tricked into reading a different film speed?

Raid

If you blacken out the DX code or use film rolls with no DX code the Natura will read it as ISO100. I believe one could trick it into reading another ISO by using DX labels; Ive wanted to try that but I don't have access to any. The only people I know who sell DX labels are Porter's, and they don't ship overseas.

Here is a set of pics I took with a friend at a pool hall ... I am pretty impressed ... all taken with Fuji Superia 800 Xtra with EV +1

I have a few to post

Just scrape off the black paint and apply some tape or even white out. It's also good for pushing film. Here's a link to the codes:

Maybe we should try it out? Anyone?

I'll go by some Superia 800 and see if I can't trick the camera to seeing it as 1600? I assume I will see the np mode if this is the case

I still need to understand when and why we need to trick the camera into using a different ASA setting. Only in the ASA 1600 case the camera does not allow any compensation. Am I right here or wrong?

You can use the ASA800 film and then simply use +1 adjustment to get ASA1600 exposures.

I guess the only issue is the ability to push 1600 film ... since your right raid we can just advance the exposure

it would be nice to push Neopan 1600 to 3200 ... its much cheaper than Delta

What I would like to try is shoot HP5 at 3200 for dr5 reversal processing. I have found it one of the best processes for pushing. But I would need to trick the Natura into reading it as 800 film and applying a -2EV.
