Fuji slide film -cyclic shortages?

What's going on these days? At least in 35mm and 120, Adorama has been sold out for what seems like weeks, BH doesn't have any either, except for Velvia 50 35mm 5-packs. Freestyle is out for several types too.

I seem to recall this happening before, but haven't been around the film scene long enough to know if this is the norm.

It probably used to NOT be the norm, but in these days of dropping film demand, it does seem to happen periodically. The other year, T-Max 3200 couldn't be bought anywhere for about 3 months until they did another run of it. I don't know if in this case there is anything more to it than that.

Don't forget that the earthquake and tsunami have caused a vast number of disruptions to Japanese industry and commerce.

Ah yes, mustn't forget about the quake... For what it's worth, BH now appears to be IN STOCK for most types and sizes!
