7dayshop.com are selling Superia for £4.99 for four rolls. I don't normally like C41 colour film, but the price is good so I'm going to bulk order.

I normally just buy Superia 400, but now that I scan negatives in I've started noticing the noise in the sky and shadows.

Is there much improvement in the 100 and 200 speed versions?

If the difference is negligable, I'll stick to ISO400 - it's nearly never sunny here.

I recently bought a 4-pack of Superia 200 and have been happy with it. Admittedly, most of it was shot on sunny days, but the color seems more pleasing than my results with 400. The airplane shots in my gallery were done with Superia 200. In addition, the two SLR shots below were also with 200. I think I will stick with it for a while.

200 is a visible improvement compared to 400, hard to see the difference between 100 and 200 tho. Therefore Fuji 200 is my standard C41 film for 135.

I know how that sounds, but slide film is twice as expensive frame for frame. I prefer slide film, but I need to compromise with the money in my pocket.

Actually, I've always found slide film easier to scan. You have a reference for your color balance and it's true that with 100 speed slide films, you can make very large prints with little or no grain. In my experience, many C-41 films have required a bit of tweaking to balance the color and in scanning, the grain, whether digital or analoge seems to raise up a bit. That is not the case with a good custom wet print, which can be quite beautiful in every sense. Of course now that you've got me thinking, I'm going to go out and get some Fuji 200 at the local discount joint and see for myself, so I can compare apples to apples.

I have a feeling that the 400 ISO Superia is just short of actually being 400. I get best results when I rate it approx. 1/2 stop lower. Something I never had to do with NPH.
