I have a simple (and maybe silly) question:
Does the new XPro-1 X mount specification enables other (read larger) sensor sizes than the current APS-C sensor?
Although the current triplet equates nicely to standard 35mm F-stops it would be nice to re-use them with a larger size sensor in the future.

This may be more of a lens coverage issue than a mount issue -- if the lenses only cover APS-C, then the mount question would be moot.
E.g. even if you built a adapter for mounting Contax lenses on a Hassy body, you would still get serious vignetting on your 6x6 negs...

The lenses are designed to cover APSc. They could not be used with a FF sensor without severe vignetting.
It appears that Fuji is betting that from cost/performance perspective APSc is the place to be.

I'm no optical expert, but it seems to me that if the flange focal distance was altered (>17.7mm), the lens could indeed cover a larger sensor BUT the lenses aren't designed to focus through infinity at increased distance. You would likely lose the ability to focus at infinity and the effect might be similar to using a macro extension tube.
A new lens would, therefore, be required for a step-up to FF.
