as long as you don't overly crop the image, I think you have no problem printing it this big

I've printed 20x30" prints that I was satisfied with... however, your expectations may be higher than mine.

I only print up to 12"x18" out of my R2400 but have done that with images out of a 4.1MP Nikon D2H. I find I can crop the X-Trans images (16MP) easily and get images that work for me.

They are really no different than any 16 MP camera. All the basic guidelines and techniques one uses to prepare for a large print apply.

13"x20" at ISO 250. Good detail and tonality.
Pretty much equal to 645 film, IMO.

I've done a 30x40 canvass, and I'm satisfied. It is the largest I've ever had anything printed.

I recently ordered two prints at 20x30 using iPhoto. They turned out very well.

You really have to refine that question.

I have printed 3x10 feet, but they were not meant to be viewed at 2 feet. Kodak made 18x60 foot backlit, color transparencies for Grand Central Terminal, until about 1990.

You think? It's a request for comments more than just a question.

I'm just looking for feedback from users experience. Comments so far have been encouraging although not terribly technical.
My experiecne to date has been under 20" on the long side in color. (reasonble satisfied with the results).
Looking to maybe go up tp 40" on the long side both color and B+W for a project this summer dressing up a taproom in MT (with original content from the actual location).

16 megapixels prints well at full rez up to 30" IMO. Depends on the material and original image quality. A tripod, very sharp, static scene image could go up to 40", especially with B/W. The higher the ISO the smaller the print, usually non-linear relationship. Some colours or scenes (choppy bokeh) can look pixellated or watercolour if overly blown up. A lot depends on the media quality for tricky items like a grad sky. From these comments I'd say your sensor's baseline is between 20" and 30".
